PU leather features
In China, the artificial leather produced by using PU resin as raw material is called PU artificial leather, which is referred to as PU leather. The artificial leather produced by using PU resin and non-woven fabric is called PU synthetic leather, which is called synthetic leather. PU leather has excellent performance. It is a kind of artificial leather fabric, which is artificially synthesized with chemical raw materials, has a leather texture, is durable and low in price.
The fabric manufacturing process of PU fabric is relatively complicated. Since the base fabric of PU is a canvas with good tensile strength, the PU fabric has good physical properties, good resistance to tortuosity, good softness, high tensile strength and gas permeability. In addition to being able to be applied to the top of the base fabric, the PU material may also be included in the middle so that the outside is not visible.
The pattern of the PU fabric is first pressed on the surface of the semi-finished leather with a kind of pattern paper, and the paper leather is separated after waiting for cooling, and the surface treatment is performed. The PU fabric is breathable, has high peel strength and high water pressure resistance, and is an ideal material for the surface layer and the bottom layer of the waterproof and breathable garment fabric.
The price of PU fabrics is higher, and the price of PU fabrics with certain special requirements is 2-3 times higher than that of PVC fabrics. Generally, the pattern paper required for the PU fabric can be scrapped only after 4-5 times; the use period of the pattern roll is long, so the cost of the PU leather is higher than that of the PVC leather.
PU leather production
In terms of the production of PU products, the production capacity of Bayer, BASF and Huntsman is first-class, while the textile fiber suppliers represented by Toray and Asa have higher product technologies. In foreign countries, due to the influence of animal protection associations and the development of technology, the performance and application of PU synthetic leather has surpassed that of natural leather. After the addition of the ultrafine fibers, the toughness, gas permeability and wear resistance of the PU are further enhanced.
PU leather products: The reverse side of this PU fabric is the second layer of leather, which is coated with a layer of PU resin on the surface of the cowhide, so it is also called film cowhide. Its price is better than that. With the change of the process, it is also made into various grades, such as imported two-layer cowhide. Due to its unique craftsmanship, stable quality and novel varieties, it is regarded as high-grade leather, and its price and grade are no less than the top layer of leather. PU leather and leather have their own characteristics, PU leather looks beautiful, good care, low price; leather is expensive, troublesome and durable.
PU application in industry
Many steel structure workshops, cold storage and other industrial plants use foam sandwich panels made of PU materials. PU composite panels with flame retardant have good thermal insulation and flame retardant effects. In addition, PU materials are also widely used in building exterior insulation materials.
